If someone you really care about is victim to an addiction, watching them go through it is torture. But after they’ve gone through a drug treatment center in Sacramento or wherever you are located, it’s almost as much of a relief for you as it is for them. But being a big part of their life, you are there to support them and keep them on the right path. So when you may think they are on the verge of relapsing but aren’t sure, what do you do? As much as you’d like to follow them around for a day like a detective, forcing them to stop is not helping. Wanting to recover from a drug or alcohol addiction is personal and if you try to intervene, they will only find a way to do it again if they aren’t serious about recovery.
