Drug Rehab Center in Sacramento Discusses Addiction and Suicide


While people often think of drug or alcohol dependency and suicidal behavior as two entirely separate and mostly unrelated issues, the two are intertwined far more often than people might expect. The reason why is clear when you look at the factors that drive a higher incidence of each. Depression shows up as a leading cause of both substance abuse and suicide. The Startling Numbers

The government’s Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) states that nearly 40,000 people commit suicide each year — roughly one person every 13 minutes.That’s more deaths annually than from homicides and AIDS combined, and more than from car accidents.
